The A-Ha Moment...

While having dinner with my two boys one evening, I was struck with amazement.  These little beings are filled with knowledge, knowledge we all possess.  They taught me that as we age, we put our inner wisdom aside and replace it with the external stimulations of society.  I recently read an article that talked about choosing a Reiki Master/Teacher.  The article mentioned that it is best to find a mentor who has been practicing for a long time,  and while I agree with finding someone who has experience, my children remind me on a daily basis that we are all teachers of the healing arts and have been since birth.  Think about it.  When we get hurt, be it a bump on the head or a paper cut on the finger, our innate reaction is to take hold of the area.  Why?  Because human touch, even our own, feels good!  When a child stubs a toe or skins a knee, mom or dad is there to help facilitate healing that makes everything so much better.  My children have given me the gentle nudge to trust my inner wisdom and to move forward in my practice and teaching of the healing arts.  I am forever grateful for everything they have taught me.
